Expert Packing Solutions
Why choose expert packing instead of DIY?
Packing is the part of moving most people dread. It’s time-consuming, messy, and if it’s not done right, things get damaged. Our expert packing team at Western Moving & Storage takes that stress off your plate.
We use professional techniques, heavy-duty materials, and a step-by-step system to protect everything—from everyday kitchen glasses to chandeliers and fragile paintings. You can choose exactly how much help you want: just furniture, just the kitchen, or full-home expert packing.
Serving the Lower Mainland, Fraser Valley and long-distance moves to Alberta, our goal is simple: pack everything safely so it arrives exactly how it left.
Our Expert Packing Services
1. Basic Furniture Protection (Included with Every Move)
Even our “basic” level is done by expert packers.
For all standard moves, we:
Shrink wrap upholstered furniture
Sofas, chairs, mattresses and fabric items are wrapped in stretch/shrink wrap to protect against dust, dirt and light moisture during loading, transport and unloading.Blanket wrap for hard surfaces
We wrap wood furniture, dressers, tables and cabinets in professional moving blankets, then secure them with tape/straps so they don’t shift or rub during the drive.Disassembly and reassembly (where needed)
Beds, table legs and other larger items can be disassembled so they move safely and fit through tight hallways. Our crews use proper tools and keep hardware in labelled bags.Floor & home protection
We use runners, door jamb protection and careful handling techniques to avoid scratches on floors, walls and door frames while we move everything out and in.
This basic level is perfect if you prefer to pack your own boxes but want your furniture protected by expert packing methods.
2. Partial Packing – Help Where You Need It Most
Don’t want full-service packing, but need help with the hard stuff? Our expert packing team can focus on the rooms that are most time-consuming or fragile:
Kitchen & Dining Room Packing
The kitchen is usually the toughest room to pack. We handle:
Plates, bowls & dishes
Wrapped individually in packing paper, stacked vertically (like records) in boxes to reduce pressure and chipping.Glasses & stemware
Each glass is wrapped and cushioned, with extra padding on the bottom and top of boxes. We pay special attention to thin stems and delicate crystal.Mugs & cups
Individually wrapped and packed snugly to avoid movement.Pots, pans & small appliances
Protected with paper or foam between items so metal doesn’t scratch or dent.Serving dishes & decorative pieces
Extra cushioning and double-boxing for high-value or sentimental items.
Our expert packers label every box clearly (e.g., “Kitchen – Glasses – Fragile – Open First”) so unpacking is easier at your new home.
Bedrooms, Closets & Linen
We can also:
Pack clothes into boxes or wardrobe solutions (hanging options if requested)
Pack linens, blankets and pillows (often used as extra cushioning in boxes)
Carefully fold and protect delicate fabrics
You choose the rooms; our expert packing team handles the rest.
3. Full-Home Expert Packing
If you want the most hands-off, stress-free experience, our full-home expert packing service is for you.
We can:
Walk through your home and create a packing plan.
Bring packing materials (or use yours, depending on your preference).
Systematically pack room by room, labelling boxes clearly.
Coordinate packing and moving so everything lines up perfectly for moving day.
Full-home expert packing includes:
All kitchen and pantry items
Living room items (decor, electronics, books, etc.)
Bedrooms, bathrooms, closets and storage spaces
Garage items (safely, excluding hazardous materials)
Home office equipment and files (packed safely and systematically)
You can be as involved or as hands-off as you like. Many customers simply walk us through the home once, and our expert packing team takes it from there.
Specialty Expert Packing for Fragile & High-Value Items
Some things can’t just be “thrown in a box.” They need true expert packing with special care and techniques.
Chandelier & Light Fixture Packing
Chandeliers and delicate light fixtures are some of the most fragile items in a home. Our process:
Preparation & disassembly
We carefully remove bulbs, crystals and detachable pieces. Each part is placed in separate, labelled sections.Layered wrapping
Delicate pieces are wrapped with soft padding (foam, bubble wrap or paper) and secured to prevent rubbing or scratching.Sturdy boxing or crating
We use strong boxes or custom solutions that support the structure from the base and sides, leaving no room for shifting during transit.Clear labelling
Boxes are marked as “Chandelier – Fragile – This Side Up” to ensure special handling at every step.
With our expert packing process, chandeliers travel safely—even on long-distance routes.
Fragile Painting & Artwork Packing
Art and paintings often have monetary and emotional value. We treat each piece like it’s irreplaceable.
For paintings, framed art and prints, we:
Protect the surface
Cover the front with a soft layer to prevent scratches or pressure marks.Wrap the frame & corners
Use padding around all edges and corners where impact is most likely.Custom-fit boxing
Place the artwork in snug boxes or cartons sized to the piece, with extra cushioning on all sides.Separate and secure
Art pieces never travel loose in the truck. They are stacked vertically and secured to prevent bending, warping or impact.
We can also pack:
Mirrors
Large framed photos
Canvas art
Glass-fronted frames and shadow boxes
If you have especially valuable pieces, let us know in advance so we can plan specialized expert packing for them.
Extra-Fragile & Irregular Items
Our expert packing solutions also cover:
Glass tabletops & shelves
Wrapped, padded and packed upright with “glass” and “fragile” labels.Vases and decorative glass
Double-wrapped and cushioned, often double-boxed for extra protection.Antiques & collectibles
Assessed individually and packed based on shape, weight and fragility.Electronics (TVs, monitors, speakers)
Packed with extra padding around screens and corners. If you still have the original box, we can use that; otherwise our expert packers will secure them safely with padding and appropriate cartons.
If you’re unsure whether something needs expert packing, just ask. If it’s fragile, heavy, valuable or sentimental, it probably does.

Expert Packing FAQ – Everything You Need to Know
Choosing professional packing can make your entire move smoother, safer and completely stress-free. Our customers often have questions about what’s included, how the process works, and what kind of items we can pack. To help you understand our expert packing services clearly, we’ve put together the most common questions we hear—answered in simple, helpful detail.
Whether you’re packing just a few fragile items or your entire home, this FAQ will guide you through exactly what to expect.
01.
Our expert packing service includes everything from basic furniture protection (shrink wrap, moving blankets, and secure strapping) to full-home packing of kitchens, bedrooms, décor, artwork, chandeliers and fragile belongings. We can also handle specialty items like glass tables, mirrors, antiques and electronics.
02.
No. For our expert packing service, we bring all the professional equipment and materials required. This includes shrink wrap, blankets, packing paper, foam sheets, bubble wrap, tapes, runners, and tools for disassembly. 04.
Timing depends on the size of your home and the complexity of the items.
A basic apartment kitchen may take around 2–3 hours.
A full 2–3 bedroom home may take 4–8+ hours.
Specialty items (art, chandeliers, antiques) require more time.
During your consultation, we give an accurate estimate based on your home and items.
05.
